Morrison Fencing
Agricultural contractor
Company history
Morrison Fencing was established in 2017. I was brought up on the family farm, before graduating with a degree in Agriculture at SAC Craibstone. Upon leaving college I took a job as a stockman with a herd of 180 commercial suckler cows later moving to another herd comprising 200 pedigree Angus cows. From there I took on a job managing a 400 acre unit with 100 suckler cows. Unfortunately a change in circumstances for the owner meant I was made redundant from my role. I purchased a large portion of the spring calving herd from the farm where I worked and was fortunate to obtain a farm tenancy of 230acres in November 2016 where I still farm today. As with any new farm business, cash flow is very important, so after a brief spell working with another fencing contractor, Morrison Fencing was established. I have a passion for livestock and grassland management so I hope to be more than just a tradesman that turns up and does the job as fast as possible, instead, working with the customer to come up with the best option/specification for them. I have a particular interest in rotational grazing which I do at home to good effect and am keen to help other farmers establish a similar system on their farm.
